Jane Thompson
A wife and mother, Jane left a career to be a stay-at-home mom. She
became motivated to enact social change after attending a family
festival in Los Angeles and subsequently finding out a pedophile had
"reviewed" the event she had attended based on how good it was for
getting close to children, and posted the review on his pro-pedophelia
website. The pedo included a description of children at the fest who
caught his eye that included her child. This was the flashpoint for
Jane to embark on her eye-opening, often disturbing journey into the
rights of children in media in California.

Lena Smyth
The mother of two small children and wife of a California State
Assemblymember, Lena has had a career working in the media, public
relations, and non-profit. She became a stay-at-home mom after the
birth of her second child. When she learned that an admitted
pedophile was posting online about kids in her community, Lena was
moved to act. She holds a Master's Degree in Political Science and
hopes to share her knowledge of the legislative process with other
parents to effectively lobby lawmakers for change.

At MASP, our primary role is within our communities: empowering parents to safeguard their children; enabling an exchange of information between parents, school districts, and law enforcement agencies; and encouraging the creation of policies and legislation to fill gaps used by predators.
MASP is not just for moms - All parents and concerned members of the community are welcome and encouraged to participate in this endeavor.
We're parents who have grown weary of well-intended but outdated laws and policies that leave loopholes for savvy predators to take advantage of. Although we're concerned about Constitutional Rights as we all should be, we believe anyone who uses media to promote the abuse or endangerment of a child is taking distressing advantage of the First Amendment.
We are a sister organization to Washington Communities Against Predators.
